Harken 57mm Carbo Ratchet Block, Swivel (2135)

The block you trim the mainsheet through, and the one the factory fits: a new Sunfish ships with a 57mm Harken Carbo ratchet on the deck eyestrap. The ratchet holds against the pull of the sheet so your hand carries a fraction of the load, which you notice most when it is windy. Switch it off for light air.

Mounts the stock way: shackle through the deck eyestrap, standing on the boat's existing stand-up spring. Takes line up to 10mm, so the full 9mm grip of the tapered mainsheet runs through it.

Harken part 2135. The Podium Kit has the same block with a becket (2136). The Ronstan Series 55 ratchet is sold separately if you prefer it.
